Cave Junction Couple Sentenced for Growing Marijuana

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A Cave Junction couple are headed to federal prison for their marijuana growing operation.

54-year-old Rick Schlotzhauer was sentenced to serve 20 years.

His 51-year-old wife, Sabina, was sentenced to 10 years.

That's the mandatory minimum for growing more than 1-thousand marijuana plants.

In 2005, the D-E-A found a large underground marijuana growing operation buried in the hillside directly below the couple's Cave

Junction home.

The investigation led agents to a residence in Onalaska, Washington previously owned by the Schlotzhauers.

That's where they found 210-plants buried in shipping containers.

Rick Schlotzhauer received a longer sentence than his wife because of a previous felony drug conviction for growing marijuana.
